Ditch the Resolutions, Grab a Bingo Card Instead!

No pressure, no deadlines - just things that bring JOY!

· Inspiration,Wellness

Hey beautiful ladies,

It's that time of year again. You know the one: where everyone's suddenly become obsessed with "new year, new you" and your inbox has been flooded with gym memberships, detox programs, and pressure to completely reinvent yourself by February.

Can we talk about New Year's resolutions for a second? They're kind of the worst. And when you're fighting cancer? They're even worse.

You feel pressure and guilt when you inevitably "fail." The rigid goals that don't account for chemo brain, treatment schedules, or the fact that some days, getting out of bed IS the accomplishment. Honestly, traditional resolutions don't work for anyone.

So this year, I'm ditching resolutions and making a 2026 bingo card instead!

Stay with me here.

Why a Bingo Card?

With a traditional resolution, there's one goal, one timeline, and about a thousand ways to feel like you've failed. But with a bingo card? Every single square is a win. There's no order, no deadline, no "you should have done this by now." Just a beautiful collection of little joys, big dreams, and moments that make you feel alive - that you can check off whenever the heck you feel like it.

Go bald in public wearing hot pink lipstick? That's a square. Take a puppy yoga class? Square. Have a dance party in your living room with a disco ball at 2pm on a Tuesday? SQUARE. Get an hour-long massage because your body deserves to feel good? You better believe that's a square.

The beauty of this approach is that these aren't expectations; they're celebrations. And unlike resolutions that can feel like punishment (looking at you, "give up all sugar forever"), every completed square is proof that you're not just surviving, you're LIVING.

My Fighting Pretty Bingo Card

My bingo card includes things I want to do this year for ME - to help me feel strong and beautiful. Here's what I put on mine:

(Can you use the image here too?)

  • Wear hot pink lipstick (instant level up)
  • Dress up and wear sparkles (Tuesday counts. Every day counts.)
  • Take a vacation to a beach (or just imagine one - visualization totally counts)
  • Take a puppy yoga class (self-care + puppies = perfection)
  • Have dinner by the water with some bubbly (wine’s basically medicine, right?)
  • Have a mini dance party in my living room (disco ball optional but encouraged)
  • Get an hour massage (my body is fighting battles every day - it deserves this)
  • Go for a sunset stroll (fresh air, pretty colors, zero pressure)And of course, that FREE space in the middle? That's already yours. You've earned it just by showing up today, by fighting this fight, by being here.

What’s on your bingo card?

Now it’s your turn to really make it your own. Fill it with whatever brings you joy, makes you laugh, or reminds you that you're a total badass. Maybe it's beach vacations and champagne dinners. Maybe it's trying a new wig style, binge-watching your favorite show guilt-free, or finally telling someone exactly how you feel.

There's no right or wrong way to do this: just YOUR way.

The point is to let go of expectations and give yourself permission to seek joy, to celebrate small wins, and to remember that your life isn't on hold just because cancer showed up uninvited.

This year, let's focus less on who we "should" be and more on the moments that make us feel like ourselves. One bingo square at a time.

Happy 2026!

Kara 💕

P.S. - Share your bingo card with us! What's going on your squares? We want to see all the beautiful, bold, ridiculous, wonderful things you're going to do this year. Tag us @fightingpretty - let's inspire each other.
