July 16th is Glioblastoma Awareness Day- a day to honor the women who are battling one of the most aggressive and devastating forms of brain cancer, and to uplift the families, friends, and caregivers standing with them every step of the way.
At Fighting Pretty, we know that cancer doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed- it affects everyone who loves and supports them. From late-night hospital visits to long days of treatment, from whispered prayers to tearful triumphs, the fight is shared. That’s why we’re here. To say: You are not alone. You are Fighting Pretty.
And to shine a light on a disease that deserves more awareness, more research, and more compassion.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is a fast-growing, aggressive brain tumor that develops from the brain’s supportive tissue. It’s the most common form of malignant brain tumor in adults, but also one of the hardest to treat.
Here are five important facts you should know:
- Glioblastoma is highly aggressive.
It grows rapidly and spreads within the brain, making it incredibly difficult to remove completely with surgery. - The average survival time is just 12 to 18 months.
While some individuals live longer, GBM is often terminal and progresses quickly after diagnosis. - There is currently no cure.
Treatment typically includes surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy—but recurrence is common. - It affects approximately 13,000 people in the U.S. every year.
While rare compared to other cancers, it has a profound impact due to its severity and the challenges in treatment. - Research and funding are still critically needed.
Despite its aggressive nature, glioblastoma receives less research funding compared to other major cancers.

How We Fight Pretty
To honor those battling brain cancer, we created our Silver Mini Boxing Gloves- a symbol of strength, hope, and resilience.
These powerful little gloves are more than just a keepsake. They’re a message to every woman with Glioblastoma:
You are strong. You are beautiful. And you are never, ever alone.
Whether you gift them to someone in treatment, hang them in your car, or keep them close as a reminder of someone you’ve loved and lost, these gloves are a simple way to stand in solidarity.
Today, We Remember and We Honor
We remember the brave women we’ve lost.
We honor the fierce fighters who are still in the ring.
And we stand with every caregiver, every daughter, every partner and friend who is quietly, fiercely fighting too.
Together, we fight for more research.
More awareness.
More hope.
